Men's Swimming Completes Saturday Action At NEAC Meet

The Wells College men's swimming team has strong performances in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke to highlight the second day of the three-day North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Cazenovia College.

Ian Ronan took third in the finals of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.77. That bettered his career-best time, and ranks fourth in program history. Arthur Brooks placed seventh in the finals of the 100 breast with a time of 1:13.83, the 10th-fastest time in Wells history. Tyler Lewis placed ninth.

Three Wells swimmers advanced to the finals of the 200-yard freestyle. Austin Heil finished third with a time of 2:00.10. Lucas Donnenwirth was fourth and Brandon Sprague placed sixth.

Adam M. Sleezer placed third in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:16.06.

Wells had third-place finishes in both relays. The 200-yard medley relay clocked a time of 1:54.84 and the 800-yard freestyle relay of Donnenwirth, Sprague, Ronan, and Heil timed in at 8:51.23, which is the eighth-best time in Wells history.

The Express stands third in the team standings with 221 points.

Sunday if the final day of competition at the NEAC meet, with preliminary races beginning at 10 a.m. They can be viewed via online webcast.
