EXPRESS GROUND SCREAMING EAGLES

Aurora, NY – Three different players scored as the Wells College women's soccer team went on to shutout the College of St. Elizabeth Screaming Eagles 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Morristown, N.J. Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles, NY), Rebecca Furman (Parkland, FL), and Caitlyn Kubinski (Turin, NY) all scored for the Express who snapped a three game losing streak with the win. Savannah Duh (S. Bound Brook, NJ) and Britteney Laurenceau (New York) combined to record five saves in the shutout victory. Catherine De La Cruz finished with 13 saves in net for Eagles. With the win the Express earn their first victory of the season and improve to 1-3 on the season.  

The Express dominated the game from start to finish outshooting the St. Elizabeth 29-8 while peppering De La Cruz with 16 shots on net. Wells also held the advantage in corner kicks 8-2.

Furman, a junior transfer, scored here first collegiate goal as an Express, burying a pass from Samantha Civilette (Encinitas, CA) to put the Express up 1-0 at 31:43 of the first half. Lotkowictz would extend the lead late in the first half, scoring an unassisted goal with 15 seconds remaining, giving the Express a 2-0 advantage.

Kubinkski put the game away for Express, finding the back of the net at 50:49 of the second half, extending the lead to 3-0, as Wells would cruise the rest of the way to victory.

The Express will next host D'Youville College on Monday, September 14th at 4:30 pm at Wells.
