EXPRESS BLANK CAZENOVIA FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

Chittenango, NY – Rachel Mattraw had her corner kick deflect off a Cazenovia defender and into the goal as the Wells Express women's soccer team held on for a 1-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory over the Cazenovia Wildcats on Sunday afternoon in Chittenango. Savannah Duh finished with eight saves in the shutout. The Express improve to 4-9 (4-4 NEAC) while the Wildcats drop to 2-12 (2-5 NEAC).

With the game scoreless through the first 17-minutes of play the Express would draw a corner kick; the ensuing kick by Mattraw would deflect of a Wildcat defender and past goalie Brittany Wescott for the 1-0 lead. Savannah Duh would be the story in the second half as she would make six saves on 12 shots by the Wildcats to preserve the 1-0 victory and second consecutive win for the Express.
