Women's Volleyball Falls To The Bears

Wells College women's volleyball continued their streak of away games Friday evening when they headed north to take on the SUNY Potsdam Bears.

In the first set, Wells was down 22-18 as it began to wind down. Then a kill from Lexi Carfi, followed by a kill from Alycia Wilson got the Express back in front. Two serves from Roosa Armstead-Lehti put the Express over the top with the last two points to win the first set, 26-24.

The second set was just as close as the first and took extra points to decide a winner. Miah Williamson powered home a few late kills but it was not enough to hold off the bears and the Express fell in the second set, 29-27.

Unfortunately for Wells, they would have a combined twelve errors in the final two sets compared to just five by the Bears. After winning the first set on the road, the Express dropped three sets in a row to SUNY Potsdam and fell to 3-6 on the season.

Miah Williamson led the team with 14 kills, and Brianah Dawson had 24 assists.

Women's volleyball will head to SUNY Canton tomorrow for a tri-match against Plattsburgh and their hosts.
