Field Hockey To Host Breast Cancer Awareness Game

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College field hockey team will host a Breast Cancer Awareness game this Sunday, Oct. 25 on the Athletic Association Field as they welcome visiting Hartwick College for a non-conference game at 1 p.m.

Wells will don specially-crafted pink jerseys with white socks while Hartwick will wear pink socks in support of the game's cause. Student-athletes from Wells have also extended invitations to breast cancer survivors in their families to be honored in a pregame ceremony.

To help raise awareness and combat breast cancer, a donation basket will be passed around to fans during the game and the team will also make a donation to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.

"This is an event we've been looking forward to hosting all season," remarked Head Coach Kat Heterbring. "I'm thrilled that Hartwick has joined us in the fight to spread awareness about breast cancer and its devastating effects. We are proud to recognize the survivors prior to our game against the Hawks."
