Women's Swimming Races Past SUNY Delhi

The Wells College women's swimming team cruised past SUNY Delhi in a dual-meet Wednesday, Jan. 23 at SUNY Delhi. Wells won by a score of 437-152. Four Wells swimmers were double-winners in individual event performances.

Courtney Cloutier took victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:03.74 and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:10.22.

Callia Ortega won a pair of sprint freestyle events with a time of 1:01.81 in the 100 free and 2:21.03 in the 200 free.

Shannon Simmons won the 50-yard freestyle in 30.39 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:18.29.

Bella George was first in the 200-yard individual medley in 3:16.02 and first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:33.92.

Wells closed the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:05.03 by Cloutier, Jess Boeheim, Simmons, and Ortega.

Wells will take on two opponents Saturday, Jan. 26 in a meet hosted by William Smith College. Wells will face the host Herons as well as NEAC opponent Cazenovia College.
