Baseball Drops Road Game to Elmira in Washington D.C.

Washington, D.C. - Wells College Baseball team was on the road Friday, traveling down to Gallaudet University for game one of a three game, two day match up with Elmira College and SUNY Canton.  The Express faced Elimra College and fell 6-12 to the Soaring Eagles, despite the offensive power of senior Aaron Izquierido's first home run of the season

The Express jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning off a double by senior Zack Odum, scoring Max Odum who reached base on a lead-off walk. Elmira bounced right back in the bottom of the inning with a 2-run homer, making the score 1-2.  The Soaring Eagles scored again in the bottom of the 2nd and held until Izquierido's at-bat in the top of the 4th inning with a lead off home run. The Express' offense stalled until the 7th inning, when sophomore Jacobi James doubled, scoring both Z.Odum and M.Odum.  Z.Odum and James both singled in the top of the 9th, batting in two Express runs to finish the game.
