Heil Nets Freestyle Victories at Pitt.-Bradford

AURORA, N.Y. – Freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) picked up two first-place finishes on Saturday as the Wells College men's swimming program posted a 101-60 loss to the hosts from Pitt.-Bradford. With the loss, Wells falls to 1-7 on the year.

Heil picked up a first place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.66) before recording a time of 54.34 seconds in the 100 Yard Freestyle, earning a total of 18 points for the Express across the freestyle events. Freshman Jordan Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomore Owen May (Warsaw, N.Y.) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 50 Yard Freestyle with times of 25.16 and 25.33.

The foursome of Johnson, junior Keith Davenport (Weedsport, N.Y.), May and Heil combined to tie the ninth-fastest time in team history while competing in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. The squad turned in a time of 3:51.98, earning first place points while finishing second out of the four relays competing in the day's final event.

Wells will return to the pool this Tuesday, Jan. 19 as it travels to Penn St.-Altoona for a 5 p.m. showdown with the Lions.
