Heil Leads Men's Swimming In Loss To Oswego State

AURORA, N.Y. – Freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's swimming program posted several top-10 team record times as the Express lost to visiting Oswego State University by an 86-31 margin on Saturday. Wells falls to 0-1 on the young season while Oswego State moves to 2-1 overall.

Heil posted the eighth-fastest 50 Yard Freestyle in team history, completing the event in 24.74, and later added the 10th-fastest 100 Yard Freestyle (55.77) and 200 Yard Freestyle (2:07.37) times in the team's history. Heil was also able to do so in only his second collegiate meet.

Senior Patrick Munroe (Williamsville, N.Y.) posted a time of 1:13.33 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke – this time proved to be the sixth-fastest in team history. No other Wells swimmer had cracked the top-10 list in that event since Feb. 16, 2013.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Nov. 7 as the Express travel to Utica for a 1 p.m. meet.
