Monroe Leads Men's Swimming In Saturday Meet

UTICA, N.Y. – Senior Patrick Munroe (Williamsville, N.Y.) moved up the record boards of the Wells College men's swimming team as the squad posted losses to Bard College (158-79) and the hosts from Utica College (168-67) on Saturday. Wells exits the weekend with an 0-3 record on the year. 

Munroe posted a time of 1:12.47 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, capturing a third place finish and recording the seventh-fastest time in team history. His time was also the first to crack the top-10 leaderboard since Feb. 16, 2013. His fourth place time of 2:23.27 in the 200 Yard Backstroke was the fifth-fastest in team history. 

Freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) earned a second place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:59.69. He finished strong for Wells, posting a 24.27 time in the 50 Yard Freestyle as part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay – his time is the fifth-best in team history. 

Wells returns to action Saturday, Nov. 21 as they travel to Alfred State College for a 1 p.m. meet.
