Field Hockey Battles The Redhawks At Home

Wells College field hockey hosted the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon.

The Express were still looking to capture their first win of the season against the Division II Redhawks.

Both teams showcased their defense in the first quarter with each team only able to muster 2 shots. The Redhawks eventually took the lead in the second quarter and held a 1-0 lead at halftime. The Wells offense began to pick up in the second half where they created 9 shots on goal with only 2 corners the whole half. The lone goal of the game came off the stick of sophomore Morgan Brown in the fourth quarter to cut the lead down to two goals. Wells had a few more chances in the final quarter to cut into the lead but was not able to find the back of the goal and fell at home by a score of 3-1.

Up next for the Express is a road trip to Houghton University next Tuesday the 26^th.
