Field Hockey Opens Conference Play At Home

Wells College field hockey played in their first conference game of the season this Saturday when they took on the Beavers of the University of Maine Farmington.
The Express and the Beavers each had opportunities to score in the first quarter but with the defenses stepping up, the teams were still tied at 0 after the first. Main took a small lead in the second when two of their shots were able to find the back of the net. Sadie Combs worked hard all day in goal coming up with 10 saves and fighting off 18 penalty corners by the Beavers. The Express took five shots on the day and most of them came from penalty corners but they were not able to find the back of the net. The Beavers took down the Express, 5-0.
Up next, the Express will host Lancaster Bible on October 8th at 1 PM.
