The Wells College men's soccer team fell by a 2-0 score in the semifinals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Morrisville State College. Wells finishes its season with an 11-5-3 record, the second-best mark in program history.

The first half was scoreless in Saturday's semifinal match, with Wells goalkeeper Owen May making nine saves in the opening 45 minutes as Morrisville held a 17-4 shots advantage in the first half.

The Mustangs took the lead with a goal when Joe Sheehan scored from right in front of the net in the 53rd minute. Morrisville added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute as Wells pressed for the equalizer.

May finished the match with 10 saves. Wells had nine shots in the match, led by three from Junger Vargas and two each from Carlos Valdivieso and Hunter Sowersby.

It was the second year in a row that Morrisville defeated Wells in the NEAC playoffs, following up last-year's 1-0 overtime win for the Mustangs in the NEAC title game.
