Freshman Spotlight : Clara Lima

The Wells College athletics department closes out the 2020 calendar year with a series of first-year freshmen athlete profiles. Today's feature is field hockey midfielder Clara Lima.

Clara Lima is a freshman on the Wells College field hockey team. The Hastings-on-Hudson psychology major with a pre-law track is one of two new midfielders for head coach Jessica Galatioto.

Clara brings a stellar record from Hastings High School, where she advanced to the post-season in every season of every eligible team sport she participated in. She combined for eight seasons of competition with two in field hockey and indoor track and four in lacrosse.

A New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Award winner, Clara was bestowed with her high school's "Yellow Jacket" award for a combination of enthusiasm and contributions as a team player.

What stands out from her first season at Wells were some of the traditions she has been a part of with her Wells College field hockey teammates.

Coach Galatioto added, "We are excited to have Clara join us from Hastings High School. Clara's bright mind and enjoyment of the game are some of the great attributes that she's been able to bring to our team."
