Freshman Spotlight : Grace Kahl

The Wells College athletics department closes out the 2020 calendar year with a series of first-year freshmen athlete profiles. Today's feature is field hockey forward Grace Kahl.

Grace Kahl is a freshman on the Wells College field hockey team. The Burlington, Vt. early education major and sustainability minor is one of two freshmen forwards for head coach Jessica Galatioto.

Grace was a four-year student-athlete in field hockey and alpine skiing at Burlington High School and believes those team experiences honed her communication and organizational skills, while focusing on being a top team player.

In field hockey, Grace was a top scorer during her final two seasons and she helped lead her team to the postseason in her last two seasons. Grace was a two-time captain of her ski team and led them to three state championship appearances.

What stands out from Grace's first season at Wells was the progress she made in her game and skill development over the course of the season.

Coach Galatioto added, "Grace joins the team coming from Burlington, Vt. Her always positive attitude and open-mindedness is something the whole team tries to emulate on and off the field."
