Sabella Named NFHCA Scholar of Distinction

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Wells College field hockey team forward Brookel Sabella (Bangor, Pa.) was recognized as a National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) Division III Scholar of Distinction with the announcement by the NFHCA in late March.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.

Sabella was also named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and joined seven of her teammates with that distinction that include: Grace Kahl (Burlington, Vt.), Hannah Koerner (Mount Laurel, N.J.) Clara Lima (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) Nikki Michaud (New Gloucester, Me.) Danielle Radivoy (Otisville, N.Y.), Sadie Sheffler (Waynesboro, Pa.) and Lauren Spiegel (Ballston Lake, N.Y.).
