ROBERTS AND BIRKLIN NAMED TO NEAC MEN'S SOCCER ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

Aurora, NY– Sophomore Delroy Roberts was named NEAC Men's Soccer Second Team All-Conference while senior Mike Birklin was named NEAC Men's Soccer Third Team All-Conference released on Friday afternoon by the NEAC office. Both Roberts and Birklin helped lead the Express to a 7-13 season and the No. 6 seed in the NEAC tournament. The seven wins marked the most in program history while their 1-0 double-overtime victory over No. 10 seed Morrisville State in the NEAC tournament marked their first post season win in program history.

Robert's selection marks the second straight year he has been named NEAC second team all-conference. Robert's finish the finished the 2009 season having started 16 games while appearing in 19 for the Express; tallying a total of two goals and three assist for seven points on the season.

For senior Mike Birklin, this is the second straight year he has been named NEAC third team all-conference. Birklin appeared in 19 games for the Express including four shutouts, a 2.03 GAA, a .801 save percentage while tallying 157 saves. The 157 saves bring Birklin's total career saves to 480, unofficially putting him in the Top 20 in Career Saves All-Time for Division III goaltenders.  The final statistics will be released upon completion of the NCAA Division III tournament.
