WOMEN'S SOCCER STUMBLES AT ST. JOHN FISHER

(Rochester, N.Y.)─ The St. John Fisher women's soccer team jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back going on to defeat the Wells College Express 7-0 on Wednesday evening in Rochester. Alexa Coppozi (Manilius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manilius) scored three goals in the victory to lead the Cardinals. Megan Lawrence (Scipio Center, N.Y./Cayuga C.C.) finished with 12 saves to lead the Express. With the loss the Express fall to 2-10-1, while the Cardinals improve to 3-9-2.
 
The Cardinals struck early, scoring three goals in the first 12-minutes of the first half. The score held until the second half when St. John Fisher added four goals as they cruised to the seven goal victory.
 
The Express return to action this weekend at home against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Wilson College at 3:00 p.m. in Aurora.
