Women's soccer falls just short on the road

Wells College women's soccer traveled to Medaille College Wednesday night for a non-conference match-up. The Express fell just short by a score of 2-1.

The Express offense struggled in the first half of play and the Mavericks took advantage. Medaille scored in the 25th and 32nd minute of this game and carried a 2 goal lead into halftime. Lydia Thomas tallied 7 saves in goal in the first half and was relieved by Morgan Gingras in the second half who stopped 5 shots from the Mavericks. In the 86th minute, Jade Bouvier scored her third goal of the season which ties her for most on the season with Lydia Thomas. After Bouvier cut the lead to 1, the Express had a penalty kick opportunity in the 89th minute but Ericka Arancio's shot was stopped by the keeper which sealed the Maverick's victory.

Women's soccer will be back in action at home this Saturday when they host Penn St Harrisburg.
