Women's Volleyball Conference Win Streak Comes To Halt

Wells College women's volleyball looked to continue their conference win streak this Wednesday night when they hosted the Pioneers of Alfred State University.

The high-powered offense of the Express was out in full force during the first two sets. Service aces from Lexi Carfi set the tone in the first set followed by a kill from Alycia Wilson. In the second, Elise Peacock sent home a kill and tallied a few blocks with Marta Corral Cajigas. The Express found themselves up 2-0.

The next three sets unfortunately were a different story. In the final three sets the Pioneers had 37 kills to the Express's 22. Every time Wells tried to go on a run the Pioneers would answer right back and ended up forcing a 5th set. The Express opened the final set with a kill but were pushed back by Alfred State who answered with three straight points. That was an indicator for the remainder of the set as the Express fell 3-2 after securing a 2-0 lead over Alfred State at home.

Up next, Women's volleyball will host the Mt Aloysius Mounties for the AMCC game of the week this Saturday!
