Women's Volleyball Takes Down The Mounties

Wells College women's volleyball hosted their second conference match of the week this Saturday against the Mt Aloysius Mounties. The AMCC conference named this their game of the week, and it lived up to the hype!

The Express came out in the first set with less energy than usual. The Mounties took advantage of that and won the first set 25-19. The second set was all Wells with kills coming from Lexi Carfi, Miah Williamson, Alycia Wilson, and Marta Corral Cajigas. The Express won the second set, 25-14.

In the third set, the Mounties began to come back to life. The Express went on service runs from Brianah Dawson, and Roosa Armstead Lehti but Mt Aloysius never let them get too far away. It came down to a late kill from Elise Peacock and an attack error from the Mounties to seal the third set, 25-19. In the fourth set, Wells grabbed a 16-10 lead forcing a timeout from the Mounties. Mt Aloysius rallied all the way back to tie the setup at 24 apiece. From there, a service error from the Mounties and a kill from Miah Williamson sealed the fourth conference victory for Wells College, 26-24 (3-1).

Next, women's volleyball will travel to Pitt Bradford on Thursday for a 7 p.m. match.
