Field Hockey All-Decade Team

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in field hockey comprises student-athletes that participated during the fall seasons between 2010-19. The team consists of 11 selections with its composition based with no fewer than three selections from each position excluding goalkeeping with all multiple all-conference selections receiving automatic placement.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically): Courtney Bastian (2012-14), Shelby Bourn (2012-15), Lexi Cohen (2013-15), Whitney Coleman (2016-19), Marina Fargnoli (2011-14), Kweita Holmes (2010-11), Kelly Mason (2016-17), Shianne Stokes (2013-16), Cat Taylor (2012-15), Kate Wells (2014-17) and Kendrick Wilson (2014-15).

Wilson was selected as the team's all-decade goalkeeper after leading the team to its first NEAC championship in 2015. The title game was a 1-0 shutout win where Wilson stopped a penalty stroke. She recorded back-to-back goals-against averages below 1.50 and save percentages above .700 in her two seasons. Her 1.25 goals-against average in 2015 was the 27th best in the nation and led the NEAC.

Of the four all-decade defensive selections, Bourn took the biggest accolade among her all-decade teammates when she was named the conference's defensive player of the year and all-NEAC in 2015. In 2013, she finished No. 43 in the country in defensive saves and finished as the team's most valuable player. She ranked nationally again in defensive saves in 2015 at No. 62. Joining her on defense are Cohen, Stokes and Holmes. Holmes was named to the all-tournament team during the 2010 Independent Championship and was named the team's rookie of the year that same year. The following year, she was awarded the team's most valuable player. Cohen received an all-NEAC selection and finished in the top-25 in the country in defensive saves in back-to-back seasons. Stokes began her career at Wells at defense where she was named the team's rookie of the year before transitioning up front and finishing her career with 38 points while receiving one all-NEAC selection. In 2016, she finished at No. 82 in the country in assists-per-game and had a five-point outing during the 2016 NEAC championship game.

Coleman received two all-NEAC selections as one of three midfielders after finishing her career with 23 points. Joining Coleman at midfield are Fargnoli and Taylor. Fargnoli finished her career with 30 points from 10 goals and assists and was the team's most valuable player her senior season. Taylor finished with 18 points during her final three seasons netting a pair of goals in each of those years and receiving one all-NEAC selection during her senior season.

Of the three all-decade forward selections, Mason was a double all-NEAC selection. She finished with 32 points and was ranked at No. 66 in the nation in 2017 for assists-per-game. Joining Mason at forward are Bastian and Wells. Bastian was named the team's most valuable player in 2012 and finished her career with double-digit points in each of her three seasons for a total 37 with five game-winning goals. Wells topped all forwards in scoring with 44 points and joined Stokes as one of two all-decade selections that were on both of Wells' NEAC championship teams of 2015 and 2016. In the 2016 NEAC title game, Wells topped all scorers with seven points.

The field hockey team competed independently from 2010-2014 where there were no postseason recognitions without a conference affiliation.
