Women's Volleyball Takes Down Giants At Home

The Wells College women's volleyball team took down Keystone College Wednesday night in a non-conference match-up. The Express won 3 out of 4 sets (3-1) with considerable help from some new names.

Wells College and the visiting Giants went back in fourth in the first set. The Express tallied 13 kills to the Giants 8, and only 3 errors to the Giants 5. This helped them secure the win in the first set 25-20. Keystone College came back with a vengeance in the second set opening up a  13-1. No matter what the Express through at them the Giants were able to counter and grab the win in the second set 25-13. The third set was a different story. Early Kills by Mackenzie Drown, Lexi Carfi, and Miah Williamson set the tone for the Express to grab a lead and not look back. The lead was never more than 2 in this set but a kill by Miah Williamson closed to the Giants in the third set 25-22. By the fourth set, the Schwartz Athletic Center was electrified! Roosa Armstead Lehti helped the Express gain a lead with 5 straight serves. Brianah Dawson was all over the court serving up 29 assists. We caught up with Miah Willaimson after the game and she mentioned how they needed to keep up the energy, and Miah definitely did. Willaimson helped put away the Giants with 8 kills in the 4th set the give the Express the close-out win, 25-20.

Women's Volleyball will be back in action this weekend at SUNY Canton.

Express Stat Leaders:

Miah Williamson - 18 kills, 1 block

Brianah Dawson - 29 assists
