The Wells College women's volleyball team hit the road for a conference tri-match at Penn State Harrisburg Sunday. the Express took down St Mary's (3-1), but fell to their host Penn State Harrisburg (3-0).
The Express only dropped the first set against the Seahawks but came roaring back to win the next 3 in a row. In the second set, Miah Williamson played a big part of building the lead when she served 11 straight times for the Express. The lead got as high as 14 in the second set with the Express finishing this one 25-12. The second set was much closer with nether team grabbing a lead of more than 3 at any point. A final kill by Miah Williamson would give the Express a 2-1 lead, 25-22. The fourth set at Roosa Armstead-Lehti help the Express start to build a lead with 6 straight serves forcing a time out for St Mary's. Sasha Lamoree would also hurt St Mary's with a few key serves and help the Express win this one 25-20 (3-1).
Next up was the host Penn State Harrisburg. In the first set, Harrisburg built up a 20-5 lead over the Express. Late serves from Elayna McDermott couldn't save the Express in the first set, 25-13. In the second set, Harrisburg buried the Express early once again going up 8-2 and eventually 21-9. the Express dropped the second set once again, 25-13. In the final set, the Express had their best chance to try and grab their first lead of the match when they were down 12-13. Unfortunately, the Express would not see the serve after that point and the Lions would go on a 12 point run to finish the Express, 25-12.
Women's Volleyball will be back at home Tuesday when they host Keuka College.
