Women's volleyball has a record setting night at home

On Tuesday night the Wells College women's volleyball team hosted Keuka College for a battle of the finger lakes match-up. Wells would get some revenge in this one and win 3-2.

Earlier this season the Express visited Keuka College and were disposed of in three straight sets. Wells College was determined for this one to not go the same way. The Express came out with some serious energy and grabbed a 1-3 lead. this lead would prove not so easy to hold as the Wolves battled back and ended up forcing the set to go past 25 points. In the end, Morgan Adams smashed the final kill to seal the first-set win for Wells. In the second set, Keuka proved to be up for the challenge grabbing a 1-0 lead over the Express and never letting them get too far ahead. At one point Wells was up 3 points but could not close out the Wolves who tied the match up at 1 set a piece. The Express found itself up 19-12 in the third set, and despite a late push from the Wolves, would win the third set. In the fourth set, the lead would go back and forth with the Express hoping to close out the wolves in 4 sets. Despite the efforts of the Express, there would be a 5th and final set forced by Keuka College. The Express was down 2-1 at the beginning of the set but would not let this one get away. Big-time serves from Lexi Carfi and Sasha Lamroee would help the Expres build a 12-8 lead, and Miah Williamson would finish the Wolves with 4 5th set kills. The Express got their revenge, 3-2. 

This was a HUGE night for women's volleyball in the record books. Brianah Dawson tied Eliza Schwab for second-most all-time assists in a 5-set match with 51 assists! Miah Williamson is now tied for first for most kills in a 5-set match with Jackie Allen with 29 kills tonight against the Wolves. Williamson is also the record holder now for most points in a match with 32.5! Finally, Roosa Armstead-Lehti broke her own record for most digs in a single match with 38 tonight!

Women's volleyball will be back home this Saturday when they host a tri-match with SUNY Morrisville and Penn College.
