Senior Spotlight: Alisa Hines

Senior Spotlight: Alisa Hines

As Wells College puts a close to its fall 2020 season, the athletics department spotlights its fall student-athletes during Senior Week. Today, the athletics department is proud to feature from the women's soccer team, Alisa Hines.

Alisa is a psychology major from Freeville, N.Y., who has been part of the women's soccer team the past four seasons. She appeared in 40 games with 30 starts during the past three seasons. Alisa has also been a key contributor to the women's lacrosse team.

Wells assistant women's soccer coach Erin Persons had the following to say about Alisa, "For the past four years Alisa has been a force to be reckoned with on the field. Not only is she willing to go into any tackle, her speed and ability to go forward from the back line is unmatched. It's heartbreaking not to be able to watch Alisa play in what should've been her final year of competitions because she has great vision and is a fun player to watch. Alisa has a great future ahead of her but she will be sorely missed on the team. Thank you for all your hard work Alisa, and best of luck!"

What is your favorite memory at Wells College as a student-athlete?

My favorite memory at Wells College as an athlete must be just being with my teams. I love the girls I have been lucky enough to work with over the last four years of being a Wells College Athlete.

What are your plans after Wells College?

My plans after college are to go into the work force and work towards finishing my coaching certifications.

What advice would you give to the next person wearing your number?

The advice I would give to the next person to wear my number would be to stand strong against adversity. I was a defender, and you are constantly facing someone who is trying to come into my "house," and you do not waver; you stand strong. You do not let anyone push you around. But the most important thing is to have fun no matter what.

If you had a favorite class during your time at Wells College, what was it and why was it your favorite?

I cannot say that I have had a favorite class throughout the years. I have enjoyed my time here at Wells and have made the best of hard times as well.

What will you miss the most about being a student-athlete at Wells College?

I will miss being around my team. I will miss my friends and being able to play my favorite sport. I will miss being able to just walk to my friends' rooms to hang out. When I graduate, I will no longer live on campus and will no longer be able to see some people.
