Max Odum Homers Twice In Season Finale

Wells College baseball wrapped up their season with a doubleheader this afternoon at Lancaster Bible College.

In game one, Ethan Zimmerman got the start for the Express In this one. Unfortunately, the Chargers were able to get to him early. They scored 3 runs in the first and 1 in the second before he was relieved by Mason Smith. In the fourth, Aaron Izquierdo hit his first home run of the season to left field giving the Express their first run of the game. Wells did not score again until the top of the seventh when Stephen Livingston singled home Nick Scanlon and Kyle Ketchum. Lancaster Bible scored in every inning of play though and won the first game, 11-3.

Jonathan Haines was on the mound to start game two. He was relieved by Zander Johnson who went 4 innings giving up only 1 hit and no runs. The Express got on the board in the second inning when Joe Horne singled home, Lance Phillips. The majority of the runs Wells scored in game two came off the bat of Max Odum (recently named student-athlete of the year) who hit two home runs this game. One in the fifth and one in the seventh. He then singled in the eighth inning pushing across another run. Wells College ultimately fell to the Chargers, 15-5, making five errors in the field.

This wraps up the season for Wells College baseball who finish the season with an 11-27 record (4-17 conference).

Thank you to their seniors for all their hard work!
