Men's Soccer Defeated By Keuka, 2-0

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Despite holding a 12-to-9 advantage in shots taken, the Wells College men's soccer team was upended by Keuka College on Saturday by a 2-0 margin. Wells falls to 4-5 overall (1-2 NEAC) on the year while Keuka remains undefeated, moving to 6-0-1 overall and to 3-0 within conference play.

Both teams played a scoreless opening 60 minutes until Rohel Duncan scored his second goal of the season at 61:10 to place Keuka up by a 1-0 margin. Paulin Kolodja sent a through ball forward to Duncan who slid the ball past Wells goalkeeper Owen May (Warsaw, N.Y.). Only 3:04 after, the Express scored a ball into their own goal after a miscommunication on defense to give Keuka a 2-0 lead.

Wells fired 12 shots on the game, but missed wide with seven of them. The Express, however, opened the second half with very strong pressure and had four-straight shots to open the second half that included a struck crossbar only 1:04 into the second frame.

May made five saves for Wells in 90 minutes. Long-time Keuka goalkeeper Preston Vick stymied the Express, making five saves to earn the shutout.

Wells hosts the reigning NEAC champions from Morrisville State College on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m.
