Men's Soccer drops second game in a row

Wells College men's soccer hosted the reigning Empire 8 conference champion Nazareth College on Sunday afternoon in Aurora, NY. The Express would drop their second in a row this week falling to Nazareth by a score of 5-1.

Nazareth College came out explosive on offense driving the ball up the field constantly. The Express defense held them off in the beginning but eventually, Nazareth would take the lead 1-0 in the 8h minute of play. One minute later Jake Pawlika would increase the Nazareth lead to 2 with an assist to Drew Decker. It took until the 51st minute of play for Wells College to find the back of the net off of a corner kick from Nate Soliman headed in by Joe Matala, his first goal of the season. A bright spot on the defensive end for Wells College was first-year goalkeeper Sean Nemeth who turned away 10 goal-scoring opportunities for the visitors.

The Express were outshot 24-4 in this one.

Express Stat Leaders:

Sean Nemeth - 10 saves

Joe Matala- 1 goal
