Wells Express Athletes of The Week 9/23

Congratulations to Lauren Spiegel and Jesse Ramirez for being named Wells Express Athletes of the Week.

Lauren Spiegel is named athlete of the week for the second time in her career and in two different sports. Spiegel was named this week after filling in as goalie for the Wells College field hockey team, a position she has never played before. Spiegel is a goalie for the Express women's lacrosse team but has never played that position in field hockey. She stopped 13 shots against Cedar Crest which earned her a nomination from her head coach Jess Galatioto. Lauren Spiegel is from Ballston Lake, NY, and attended Shenendehowa High School. 

Jesse Ramirez is named Athlete of the week for the first time in his collegiate career! Jesse "Colorado" Ramirez has one goal, one assist, and 3 points on the season. As a first-year starter at midfield, he has become a strong presence for the Express. Ramirez was nominated by his head coach Jim McIntyre. Jesse comes to Wells College from Denver, CO.
