Wells Express Athletes of The Week 9/2

Congratulations to Miah Williamson and Joe Matala on being named the first athletes of the week for the 2022 fall semester!

Miah Williamson is a junior transfer to Wells College. Has had an explosive 3 games for the Wells College women's volleyball team. So far in 3 games, Miah has tallied 42 kills with a .398 percentage. She also added 8 service aces and 6 digs. All together Williamson has grabbed 54 points for the Wells express.  She transferred here from Consumnes River College in California. In just 3 games, she has made a huge impact for the Express. Miah was nominated by her head coach Mark Lucas. This is her first time being selected as athlete of the week! 

Joe Matala is in his senior year here at Wells College and scored his first career collegiate goal against Nazareth College last week. It came from an assist by Nahan Soliman on a corner kick and helped the Express cut the lead to 3-1. Matala also played some minutes as the backup goalkeeper at Clarks Summit when the Express starter went down with an Injury. Joe Matala comes to Wells from Schenectady, NY. He was nominated by his head coach Jim McIntyre. This is Matala's first time winning athlete of the week.
