Express Drops Heartbreaker

Express Drops Heartbreaker

Aurora, NY-  The Wells College Softball team lost to Morrisville State today in a doubleheader match.  Lorelei Meier pitched a tremendous game shutting down Morrisville with twelve strikeouts on the day.  Error's in the field would be costly later in the game allowing Morrisville in the door to pass the Express by with five runs to the Express's two.

In game two, the Express battled their way back offensively in the third inning with two back to back homeruns!  Alyssa Acquaviva put Wells on the board with a solo homerun, backed up by starting pitcher Alison Mann who hit the second.  Alison Mann demonstrated senior leadership on the mound pitching a great game with eleven strike outs on the day.  Morrisville however, had an answer of their own later in the seventh inning stealing the lead from Wells putting up three runs making the score six to five.  In the bottom of the seventh Lauren Dunster would be stranded on first base for the Express who would lose the game six to five.

The Wells Express look to rebound on Monday where they will take Morrisville on again in a two game series looking to finish the job they started this past Saturday.
