Express' Valiant Effort Comes Up Short in Road Losses at Delhi

DELHI, NY - The Express softball team returned to action on Tuesday, knocking the ball all around the park but eventually succumbing to an intense Delhi attack as they fell to the Broncos in back-to-back games by scores of 14-6 and 5-2.

The Express hit well in both games despite the losses, racking up 7 and 6 hits and seeing some amazing contact by a couple Express standouts.

In game 1, Christa Koagel and Natalie Day both had multi-hit outings, with Koagel also notching an RBI.

In addition to her excellence in the batters box, Koagel also caused havoc on the basepaths, using her superior speed to steal an incredible 4 bases in the first matchup.

Taylor Robinson and Bailey Friot also logged RBI's in a huge 4-run 3rd inning that saw the Express take a lead mid-way through the contest.

In game 2 Koagel knocked in another RBI and was joined in the effort by fellow first year Josie Krieman who added an RBI of her own. The first year duo have each hit very well, and continue to be difference makers for a young Express team that's had to deal with the merciless effects of the chaotic Central New York weather, having only played 8 games so far with a whole month gone by in their season.

The Express will return home on Thursday to begin AMCC play with a doubleheader against the Hilbert Hawks.
