The Express Slow To Start But Finish Strong

Aurora, NY  Wells College faced off against Cazenovia on Saturday for a conference doubleheader.  In game one, Shannon Blanford would lead the offense going three for four with two stolen bases.  The offense would not heat up for the Express until the end sixth inning scoring four runs.  Cazenovia would be out of reach however for the Express who would lose the first game 12 to 7.  Lorelei Meier was the starting pitcher with 11 strike outs on the day.

In game two, the Express's offense would explode.  With a single to start, Juli Vibbard would be the first of 5 runs put up by the Express in the first inning.  They would tack on two more in the second inning.  Starting pitcher Alyson Mann would lead the offense going 3-3 at the plate.  The Express would hit around the table putting up ten runs to make the game out of reach for Cazenovia ending in the fifth with a score of 10-2.

The Wells Express take on Cobleskill this Sunday at home for their final home games of the season.
