EXPRESS BACK ON TRACK

Aurora, NY-  The Wells College Softball team defeated Green Mountain College in a doubleheader Tuesday April 3rd increasing their record to 6-2 on the season.  Allison Mann and Lorelei Meier pitched their way to two more wins for the Express and let their offense speak for them in game two.

 In game one, Green Mountain College would be the first to strike with one run in the top of the fourth.  The Express were not far behind them with Lorelie Meier, who led the offense with 3 hits, 1 run, and 1 stolen base.  The express battled back in the fifth inning to put up three runs to hold off Green Mountain College.  Allison Mann had a stellar appearance on the mound for the Express, striking out ten players and only giving up five hits.  Green Mountain pitcher Cass Neimth-Lazar would strike out three while giving up eight hits on the game.
 
In game two for the Express, Lorelei Meier would take the mound working for nine strike outs on the day to lead the Express to another victory.  Green Mountain College would jump out on the board in the first inning with two runs.  Chelsea Paul and Neimth-Lazar ignited their offense with two hits a piece.  The Express would not be put down though when Juli Vibbard demonstrated senior leadership hitting a triple in the fifth inning knocking in two runs to take the lead.  The Express pounded their way to their second game victory with twelve hits.  Lauren Dunster made her debut at the plate leading the Express offense with three hits on the day with a double and two singles.
 

The Express return to action this Friday against NEAC conference opponent SUNY IT.
