Express Honors Two 2nd Team All-Conference Players

Aurora, N.Y.  Wells College Shortstop Alyssa Acquaviva and Pitcher Alyson Mann received 2nd team All Conference for the NEAC Conference.  With one of the best seasons on record for the Express, these two players played an intricate role in the team's success. Starting in every game, they were both consistent at the plate and diligent in the field.  Their passion for the sport drove the team's competitive nature and determination this year.

Alyssa Acquaviva, a sophomore out of New Hartford, New York was placed 5th in batting average for the conference pounding her way to a .434 average with three home runs, two triples, ten doubles, and 36 hits.  She scored 23 runs for the Express.  Her power at the plate and pressure hitting landed her 7th in the conference for slugging percentage with a .711 batting in 21 runs for the team.

Alyson Mann a senior out of Walden, New York was also names to second team all conference.  She placed second in the conference for hitting with a .446 batting average rocketing in 21 runs for the Express on the season.  She put up a single homerun, 9 doubles, and 37 hits in her 26 games for Wells.  As a pitcher for the Express, Alyson had an earned run average of 4.24 averaging 6 strike outs a game putting out 65 players by herself on the season.  She earned a .963 fielding percentage which was the second highest on her team. 

These two players assisted their team to one of the best seasons in the history of the program tying the all time win record with twelve wins on the season.  The Express have finished their season for the year and look forward to next year!
