First-Team NEAC Honors For Kubo

Wells College softball sophomore Naomi Kubo earned First Team all-conference recognition as the North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its 2018 all-conference teams and annual awards. It is the second year in a row that Kubo has been named to the NEAC First Team.

Kubo had a dominant offensive season against conference opponents. In 16 NEAC games, she led the conference in home runs (5), batting average (.610), and slugging percentage (1.122). She was walked more times (11) than any other batter in the league, and struck out just once in 52 plate appearances.

As a pitcher, Kubo threw 54 innings in conference play, with 43 strikeouts. She allowed 60 hits and had a 4.25 earned-run average.

Wells finished in sixth place in the NEAC North Division with a 6-10 NEAC record, and was 7-18 overall.
