Field Hockey Grabs NEAC Win At Keuka

The Wells College field hockey team earned a 2-1 victory at Keuka College on Saturday, Oct. 7. Keuka scored in the first minute of the game before the Express came back to earn the win. Wells improved to 2-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference and 2-10 overall. Keuka is 1-2 in the NEAC and 2-9 overall.

The Wolves got off to a fast start with a goal just 35 seconds into the game, but Wells goalkeeper Allison Solomon and the rest of the Express defenders kept Keuka off of the board for the remainder of the game. Solomon finished with six saves.

Wells tied the score in the 15th minute off of a penalty corner. After Whitney Coleman inserted, Nicole Sales played a long shot from outside the circle, and Ivy Cromp scored on a tip-in for the Express.

The score was tied 1-1 at halftime.

Wells scored the game-winning goal 90 seconds into the second half. Kelly Mason made a pass to Whitney Coleman, who scored her second goal of the season.

The Express returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 10 in a non-conference match at Elmira College at 3:30 p.m.
