Field Hockey Drops Home Opener

Wells College field hockey opened its season by hosting Wilson College Saturday afternoon. Wilson College would get the best of the Express by a score of 11-0. 

It took less than a minute for Wilson College to grab a lead in this one when they scored at the 45-second mark. This was the first game of the season for wells College and it took a moment for the young team to gain some cohesion. Wilson College would waste no time however tallying 3 goals on 17 shots in just the first quarter. Wilson would go on to take 16 more shots in the second quarter, scoring on 5 of them, and taking an 8-0 lead into halftime. The Express were able to manage 3 shots on goal with 2 of them coming from returning starter Lauren Speigel. Newcomer Eve Kowalczyk stopped 21 shots from Wilson College in her Wells College Debut.

Wells College Field Hockey will be back in action Tuesday at Houghton College.
