Wells Field Hockey falls just short at home Saturday

On Saturday morning the Wells College field hockey team hosted Elmira College. The Eagles would sneak away with the win 4-3.

The Express would start the scoring in this one when Rio Maeji scored off a penalty corner just four minutes into the game. The visiting Eagles would come roaring back taking a 3-1 lead late in the second. the Express would score with 1 minute before half from Grace Kahl and find themselves only trailing Elmira by 1 goal at the half, 3-2. Elmira quickly built the lead to 2 goals in the 3rd quarter but Lauren Spiegel answered back with a goal of her own to cut the lead to one goal once again. In the 4th, both teams would take two shots on goal but neither were able to score and the Eagles would come away with the road win.

Field Hockey will take the turf again Tuesday when SUNY Brockport visits.
