Field Hockey drops a close game at home

Wells College field hockey hosted the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs for their season finale on Saturday. The Mustangs stole a heartbreaker by a score of 2-1.

The Express were looking to secure their second win of the season against the Mustangs. Both teams were battling injuries so there was a lot of extra room on the field. Early in the second quarter, the Express took the first lead of the game off the stick of Lauren Spiegel. Before the end of the half, the Mustangs would answer, sending us into halftime all knotted up at 1. The score would stay this way for the entire 3rd quarter with both teams having opportunities to score but both goalkeepers came up big. The tie was finally broken with 3 minutes remaining in the game the Mustangs scored off a penalty corner. The Express had a few more chances at scoring but were not able to score and fell at home in their finale.

Express Stat Leaders:

Lauren Spiegel - 1 goal

April Washburn - Defensive save
