Softball All-Decade Team

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in softball comprises student-athletes that participated during the last 10 spring seasons of Wells softball between 2009-20. The team consists of 10 selections with its composition based on a compilation of conference top-10 finishes and all-conference season selections.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically): Lindsay Achzet (2013-14), Alyssa Acquaviva (2011-12), Rebekah Coons (2009-10), Sydney Cullen (2017), Jenna Devora (2018-20), Naomi Kubo (2017-20), Alyson Mann (2009-10, 2012), Lorelei Meier (2010-13), Paige Stone (2010-13) and Amelia Welch (2009-10).

Two members of the softball all-decade team competed last season and include Kubo and Devora. Devora received one all-conference nod (2019) and finished in the conference's top-10 four times in three seasons of play. She finished with a pair of top-10 finishes in 2020 (RBI, on-base percentage) and a pair in 2019 (batting average, slugging percentage). Devora has a .333 batting average, .375 on-base percentage and .493 slugging percentage from 46 hits, 36 RBI and 18 runs. Her field percentage is at .953 with 126 putouts and 58 assists. Kubo is a two-time all-conference selection (2017, 2018) with a baker's dozen of top-10 finishes and played four seasons. She appeared in the conference's top-10 once in 2020 (on-base percentage), twice in 2019 (on-base percentage, stolen bases), five times in 2018 (on-base percentage, batting average, slugging percentage, ERA, strikeouts), and five times in 2017 (on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, stolen bases, homeruns). Kubo led the NEAC in on-base percentage in both 2018 (.688) and 2019 (.557). Her 2018 season also saw her lead the NEAC in batting average (.568) and slugging percentage (1.045). Both players spent time on the mound with Devora seeing play in the infield and Kubo listed as a utility player. Kubo finished with a .430 batting average, .588 on-base percentage and .729 slugging percentage from 89 hits, 74 runs and 46 RBI. On the mound, she fanned 140 batters and had 128 putouts with 116 assists in the field.

With the program on hiatus in 2015 and 2016, the only other post 2014 player selected to the all-decade team is Cullen, who earned an all-conference nod in her lone season during her senior year in 2017 as an infielder. During that season, she batted .354 with a .375 on-base percentage and a .505 slugging percentage from 35 hits, 21 RBI and 18 runs. The shortstop had 43 putouts and 58 assists.

Four other infielders joined her on the all-decade team and includes Coons, Acquaviva, Achzet and Welch. Welch is the only other player besides Kubo who held a top solo spot in a conference category, and she did it twice. During her two seasons, she appeared in the conference's top-10 four times. She finished in the top-three in putouts in both of her seasons and finished in the top-10 three times in 2009 in homeruns, fielding chances (235) and putouts (225) and led the NEAC in the latter two categories that season. Welch finished with 407 putouts with 25 assists for a .977 fielding percentage. Coons received a pair of all-conference nods and finished in the conference's top-10 once in fielding assists. Coons finished with 44 hits, 25 runs and 15 RBI at the plate with 45 putouts and 94 assists in the field. Acquaviva also was named an all-conference selection twice with three top-10 conference finishes during her two seasons. During the 2012 season, she finished in the top-10 in batting average, slugging percentage and homeruns. Acquaviva finished with 54 hits, 34 RBI and 32 runs with 47 putouts and 65 assists. Achzet was a two-time all-conference selection with four finishes in the conference's top-10 with two seasons of play and also spent time on the mound. She finished in top-10 in slugging percentage and homeruns during both of her seasons. Achzet finished with 36 hits, 32 RBI and 17 runs with 63 putouts and 77 assists.

The remaining three members of the softball all-decade team all have outfield experience and include Stone, Meier and Mann with the latter two also seeing action from the mound. Stone and Meier were four-year teammates from 2010-13. Stone received one all-conference nod (2013) and finished in the conference's top-10 twice with one appearance for batting average (2013) and the other for homeruns (2012). Stone finished with 83 hits, 44 runs, 38 RBI, 155 putouts and 21 assists. Meier was a two-time all-conference selection (2011, 2013) and finished in the conference top-10 a half-dozen times. In her freshmen season, she finished in the top-10 in ERA. Meier finished in the top-10 twice (batting average, on-base percentage) in 2011, once in 2012 (wins), and twice (wins, strikeouts) in 2013. Meier's career stats include 78 hits, 46 runs, 22 RBI, 54 putouts, 57 assists and 270 strikeouts. Mann is also a two-time all-conference selection (2010, 2012) and appeared in the conference's top-10 five times. In 2010, she finished in the top-10 in wins. In 2012, she appeared in the conference top-10 four times with impressive numbers from the mound and the plate in wins, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. Mann finished with a .336 average, .417 on-base percentage and .436 slugging percentage from 44 hits, 25 runs and 15 RBI. In the field, she finished with 45 putouts and 94 assists.

*Criteria for individual selections and team composition varies upon available information that may include, but is not limited to, input from coaches, conference distinctions and supporting statistics when available. To include the team's last 10 seasons of play, the 2009 and 2010 seasons were included as the program did not compete in 2015 and 2016.
