EXPRESS SHUTOUT ROSEMONT FOR FIRST VICTORY

(Aurora, N.Y.)- Elisabeth Rollo (Geneva, N.Y./Southern Cayuga) snapped a scoreless tie scoring 13 minutes into the second half as the Wells College field hockey team held on to defeat the Rosemont College Ravens 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Rosemont, Pa. The Wells Express allowed just one shot on goal, while holding the advantage in penalty corners 9-8. The win snaps a five game losing streak for the Express, who improved to 1-5 on the year. The loss drops Rosemont to 1-4 on the season.  

Despite eight penalty corners from Rosemont the Express controlled the majority of the game limiting the scoring opportunities of the Ravens. While defense has been the hallmark of the Express the entire year, the offense took the spotlight today firing 10 shots on net.  

The Express return to action on Wednesday, September 29 at 4:30 p.m. against Houghton College in Aurora, N.Y.
