Women’s Volleyball Team Falls on the Road

The Wells College women's volleyball team finished the night strong on the road at Medaille College on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

In the final set of the night, Wells opened strong by taking five of the first six points for a 5-1 lead. The Express held the lead until after the midpoint of the set with its final edge at 14-13. Trailing by nine and facing match point against the Mavericks, Wells rallied with five consecutive points to make a game of it.

Wells improved its offensive numbers in each of the three sets with 14 in the first, 18 in the second and 22 in the third.

Morgan Adams led the team in points with six and kills with five to lead the offense, while Roosa Armstead-Lehti led the defense with a dozen digs.

Other team leaders were Lexi Carfi with six assists, Makenzie Drown with three service aces, and Isabella Ciancio and Tori Sanders with a pair of block assists each.

The Express next travel to Misericordia University for a pair of matches on Saturday, Sept. 11 beginning at 2 p.m.
