Express fall on the road to SUNY Poly
On Wednesday night the Express traveled to SUNY Poly for a 7 PM showdown.
The Express was coming off a weekend where they dropped a match to SUNY Morrisville but beat Penn College decisively. SUNY Poly was also coming off a loss to SUNY Morrisville just the night before.
The first set started with a competitive back and forth with the Express building their lead little by little. The Express closed out the first set by a score of 25-17 with 2 kills each from Caroline Barr and Makenzie Drown. Roosa Armstead-Lehti also had 9 digs and Sasha Lamoree had 7 digs. The Express started the second set with a bit of a lead but SUNY POLY quickly tied it up at 7-7. After trailing the Wildcats 20-15 the Express battled back to make it 21-20 but unfortunately dropped the second set by a score of 25-22 making it an even 1-1. In the 3rd set, The express trailed by as many as 9 at one time and cut the lead down to 3 before ultimately dropping the 3rd set by a score of 25-19 putting the Express in a 2-1 deficit. The 4th set was closely contested from the start but the wildcats pulled away in the end defeating the Express 25-18 and grabbing the overall win 3-1.
Makenzie lead the team in kills with 10 and Roosa Armestead Lehti lead the team in digs with 31.
Women's volleyball will be back in action this Saturday at 11:30 AM at Penn St. Abington
