The Wells College women's volleyball team traveled to SUNY Morrisville for a pair of United East Conference matches on Saturday, Oct. 16.
The Express finished the day with a 1-1 record that included a 3-0 loss to the host team and a 3-1 victory over Penn College.
In the later match, Wells libero Roosa Armstead-Lehti set a school record for most digs in a match with 35 in helping the Express take the first, third and fourth sets by 25-21, 25-15 and 25-23 scores to earn their first conference win.
Wells also had three double-digit dig performances from Caroline Barr and Kendra Roberts with 10 each.
The Express had a trio of players record double-digit kills with Barr leading the way with a dozen and 11 each coming from Tori Sanders and Makenzie Drown, with the latter two combining with Morgan Adams for a dozen combined blocks. Drown finished with 17 points.
Sasha Lamoree added 34 assists, while Drown and Armstead-Lehti each finished with a team-high three service aces.
In the opening match of the day against Morrisville, the Express dropped sets by scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-18.
Armstead-Lehti led the team in digs with Sanders having a team-best eight kills. Lomoree added 18 assists and an ace, while Barr finished second on the team in digs with a half-dozen.
The women's volleyball team next travels to SUNY Poly for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 20 with a 7 p.m. start.
