Field Hockey Team Defeated Late on the Road

The Wells College field hockey team completed a stretch of four games in six days with a solid performance at Keystone College on Thursday, Sept. 16.

Trailing by a goal entering the third quarter, Lauren Spiegel tied the contest at 1-1 with an assist from Hannah Koerner. The tie would last almost the entire third until the Giants scored in the final minute to take a 2-1 lead. Keystone would add a pair in the final quarter for the 4-1 final.

Spiegel and Koerner led the team in shots on goal for Wells with a pair each. Koerner also registered a defensive save along with teammate Danielle Radivoy.

Spiegel's goal allowed the sophomore to take sole possession of the team scoring lead.

Wells goalie Samya Anderson-Victor recorded 16 saves on the night.

The Express will have almost a two-week break before resuming play at Morrisville on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
