Men’s Lacrosse Team Completes Season’s First Home Conference Game

The Wells College men's lacrosse team played its first home conference game in nearly two years as visiting SUNY Morrisville took to the Wells Turf Field on Friday, April 9.

Although the Express faced an explosive Morrisville team, Wells had good defensive efforts in the middle frames of the contest.

Goalkeeper Jeronimo Camou (Greenwich, N.Y.) was the busiest Wells player on the night as the Mustangs peppered nearly 50 shots at the first-year player, who finished with 13 saves from the 33 shots that found the net, as well as registering three groundballs.

Offensively, Wells was led by a half-dozen shots from Jacob Stine (North Tonawanda, N.Y.). Three each came from Quinten Battle (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) and Benjamin McMonagle (Rome, N.Y.), with solo shot attempts from Shane Syms (Scranton, Pa.), Mikey Petrina (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Trevor Stein (Spencerport, N.Y.).

Defensively, the Express finished with 23 groundballs with a half-dozen going to Syms. Battle and Justin Dude (Hilton, N.Y) finished with five groundballs each, with Dude adding three caused turnovers. Solo groundballs came from Stine, Mohamed Rzane (New York, N.Y), Dan Stevens (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Kevin Schrank (Baldwinsville, N.Y.).

The men's lacrosse team next travels to La Roche University on Saturday, April 17.
