Women's Volleyball Extends Win Streak to 5

Women's volleyball extended its win streak to 5 games this Saturday afternoon. They took down Alfred State (25-17, 25-23, 25-23) and SUNY Canton (21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-25, 15-4).

Against Alfred St, the Express was in control, the entire match. In the first set, the score was tied at 10 and then Wells ripped off a 15-6 run with kills from Carfi, Williamson, and Lamoree. Alfred St pushed back against the red hot Express in the second set battling to keep it close but a late kill from Caroline Barr sealed the second set for Wells. In the third set, Alfred St became plagued a bit by attack and service errors, and the Express took advantage. Miah Williamson would serve up some late aces to close this one out for the Express and extend their win streak to 4 in a row.

The host for this weekend was more than ready for the Express in their final match of the weekend. Wells College would drop their first set of the weekend when Bailey Nadeau and Kaylee Clark would bury the Express in the first set thanks to their serves. Together they served up 14 of the Roo's 25 points in the set. The Express started the 3rd set on the right foot when Lexi Carfi nailed 3 straight service aces. Later, Miah Williamson, Morgan Adams, and Caroline Barr would all help tie the match up at 1 set a piece thanks to their kills. In the third set, the Express found themselves behind but battled back with a few key plays. Brianah Dawson would serve up assists to almost all her teammates in this set as the Express clawed back to take this set and grab a 2-1 lead. The fourth set however was all SUNY Canton. The set was tied at 13 and then SUNY Canton closed out the Express on a 12-2 run to force a fifth set. In the fifth set, the Express put their foot on the gas and never let up. Serves from Lexi Carfi helped Wells gain a 7-2 advantage. Then, serves from Leah Gregory and Miah Williamson would limit the Roo's to only 2 more points in the set as the Express extended their winning streak again to 5 straight wins!

Women's volleyball will look to win their 6th in a row on Tuesday at Keuka College.
