Women's volleyball falls twice in home Tri-match

Wells College women's volleyball hosted a conference tri-match on Saturday. The Express fell to both their guests, Penn St Abington 3-2, and Lancaster Bible 3-1.

First up for the Express was Penn St Abington. In the first set, the Express would carry a lead almost the entire time, finished off by a kill from Morgan Adams. Penn St Abington would come right back and take the second set tying it up at 1 a piece. In the third set, Wells would be led by Sasha Lamoree and Leah Gregory to carry a decisive victory in the 3rd set. In the 4th set, Abington began to pull away and held leads as large as 6 to force a game 5 deciding set. Wells jumped out to a 4-0 lead off of serves from Sasha Laorre. But the lions would come right back and the two teams would find themselves tied at 8 a piece. From there, it was almost all Abington with dominant serves coming from Sammy Burkert to close out the Express. 

Lancaster Bible was up next for the Express. The Chargers would start the first set with a 10-1 lead. That lead would then build up to 20-10. the Express would then go on two different 4-point rallies from Lexi Carfi and Miah Williamson but would drop the first set 25-22. Wells College gained a 7-1 lead in the second set. But the athletic Chargers would push back and flip the tables pulling ahead by a score of 14-10. For the rest of the set, the Express could not get anything going and lost 25-18. In the third set, once the Express grabbed a lead they would not give it up. Sasha Lamoree would go on a 5-point serve streak to help the Express build their lead. this set would be capped off by a service ace from Roosa Armstead-Lehti. In the 4th set, no team would grab a lead bigger than 4 at any time. Big serves from Brianah Dawson would help the Express lead grow to 19-16. Unfortunately for the Express, the rest of the set would be all Chargers and they would fall at home 3-1. 

Women's volleyball will be back in action next Sunday at Penn St Harrisburg.
